OOTD!- Spring Time Look

So this is what I wore a couple of days ago. It was quite warm and sunny so the outfit is more of a spring outfit.

The top is a cami from Topshop, the jeans are Joni jeans again from Topshop, the shoes are from New Look and the blazer is an old purchase from Primark.

I thought that this outfit was nice and cool for a warmer day, yet the blazer gives you a bit of extra coverage to keep you a bit warmer for the winter.
I also did my eye make up totally different as well so the picture is below for that. Its PINK! Eeekk!! I really like it though!

Youtube & Funti Wunti

A couple of weeks ago, one of my best friends Funto asked me to film a video with her for her youtube channel. At first I really did not want to. Writing a blog and actually filming a video are two completely different things and I did not feel comfortable with doing this. However with Funto being the person she is, she persuaded me to come onto her channel and film a video with her. It did not involve me talking which I think is one of the main reasons why I said yes.

Funto is often getting me to do her make up, usually when we go out clubbing or something. This time it was just for a date with the girls to Nandos but as she wanted to film this video it was the perfect opportunity.

Funto is reasonably new to Youtube but has some amazing videos up! Lots of them are to do with fashion and hauls as she shops way more than me!

If you would like to check out the video this is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrTJ7FGipMI

And for more videos from Funto check out her channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/funtiwunti

Thanks for reading my blog post and I hope you check out the video!

Chocolate Easter Nests

As it is nearing Easter it is only appropriate to do some Easter cooking. I have two 4 year old siblings, a brother and a sister and they are twins. As it is the Easter holidays and they are off school  I thought it would be nice to make chocolate nests with them.

We used 600g of Cadbury's Dairy Milk, 200g of Bournville and 12 Shredded Wheat.

We then crushed up the Shredded Wheat up in a bowl and broke up the chocolate.

After that we then melted the chocolate in a bowl over boiling water in a pan. If you do it this way and not in the microwave it is a lot less likely to burn.

The chocolate was then poured in and mixed into the Shredded Wheat.

After this the twins then spooned the mixture into the cases and put the mini eggs on top. The next pictures are of them doing this and then the final product.

As you can see above, the nests turned out great in my opinion and the twins loved eating them. I think theses nests are nice to make at Easter and they are really simple and easy to make with little ones too!

A Personal Experience With Acne And My Recommendation

A couple of years ago, in my last two years of secondary school I started to suffer from acne. First it started over my nose and then I noticed what looked like a rash forming on the outside of my face on the left side. This was I course lots of bright red spots. These would then come and go leaving the skin red, irritated and scared which I think was the worst thing for me.

I had been using everything I could possibly think of but everything I tried made little or no improvement to my skin. I decided I should go and visit my doctor to see if they could give me anything stronger. I would like to point out that my acne was not all over my face and it was definitely not really bad acne that I know a lot of people suffer with. However it was scaring my skin and quite painful.

My doctor gave me something called PanOxyl I think it was called which was a gel formula that contained Benzoyl Peroxide. At first I really hated it, it itched and made my skin look even worse, it was bright red and I seemed to have the wort dry skin. This however was it working it's magic and getting rid of the top layer of skin which I know sounds extreme but it really does get rid of the spots. All you had to do was work into into the skin the smallest amount into the problem areas and leave it to do its thing. They however after my third tube discontinued the product. My spots were gone but would come back when I stopped using the gel.

My doctor prescribed me various treatments after and none of them worked. I decided I take thinks into my own hands and visited a pharmacy asking for the same ingredient of Benzoyl Peroxide and to my surprise they had a very similar product that was just in a cream formula rather than a gel. This was called Quinoderm which is what I use still today! I couldn't recommend a product like this enough. It costs a couple of pounds because you are buying it rather than being prescribed it but it is all worth it. You can get them in different strengths too which means that the worse the acne is the stronger product you can get.

If you suffer with acne then I would recommend any products with Benzoyl Peroxide in to calm down and get rid of your spots and acne. It will need time to work and you will need to be patient with the product but once it starts to work you will be amazed at the results. Obviously I am not an expert on skin and cannot guarantee that this product will work for you or that it wont give anyone problems I am simply sharing my opinions on a certain product and recommending it for its abilities. Always read the instructions when using products like this.

Sales/London and other purchases HAUL

So the other week I took 2 trips in a row to London to do some shopping. I had recently been paid, had money and vouchers from Christmas and also had some vouchers left from my birthday. This haul is not really a huge haul, but some of the things I purchased cost quite a bit of money.

I think we will start with my biggest purchase of the trip which was a new coat. The coat as you can see below is a green, parker style coat with fur around the hood and inside the coat. Of course the fur is fake but it looks nice and it keeps me extremely warm. The coat cost me £95 pounds. However with student discount it was only £85.50.

Another purchase of mine was this lovely dress, again from Topshop. It is a black dress, which is covered in bluey/greeny sequins. They shine all over the dress in the light giving an amazing effect that the photo below is not doing it much justice. It is quite tight but hugs all the right places. The dress cost me £69 I believe. Quite an expensive purchase but so worth it! Again student discount would have got me almost £7 off of that price.

The next thing I purchased is another dress but from H&M. It's a long black maxi dress that comes down into a V shape at the front. It swings nicely and looks very elegant on. This cost me around £29.99 which is a bargain I think!

Now I have always said to myself that even though I love makeup brands like MAC and Nars, I would never buy a foundation from them as I felt like I would be wasting my money on something that I can purchase at a drugstore that has the same or similar qualities. On one of the shopping trips to London I caved and went into MAC in Covent Garden and asked to be colour matched. I bought a Prep and Prime in radiant yellow which has this beautiful glow to it, a MAC foundation called Studio Sculpt in the colour NW20 and I also bought another blush in the shade style.

Going further into my London trips I also purchased 2 perfumes. The first is Rihanna Nude which i have actually been looking at buying for a while but I waited until I could get into a Beauty Base as it is a lot cheaper. The second perfume is Kate Moss. Now I am not to sure that it actually has a name but as you will see from the pictures below it is the one in pink packaging. Kate Moss's perfume cost me £8.99 and Rihanna's Nude cost me £15.99.

Another purchase of mine was 2 comforter bubble bars from Lush. I have one use left hehe. However, the comforter bubble bar is my favourite product of all time from Lush. It smells beautiful, it makes a lot of bubbles and it also gives the water a lovely colour.

A trip to boots in my own town also burnt into my pocket. I have been loving lipstick at the moment. It does not matter what shade I am wearing and I actually have been getting compliments about some of my lip shades. Lately I have been loving Rimmel lipsticks. I just recently bought 3 different ones by Kate Moss. No. 01, No.16 and No.110. I particularly love No.16. Not only is the colour good, but it smells good too. I also bought a lipstick from Maybelline in the colour 422, Coral Tonic. Along with these lipsticks I also picked up another Rimmel Stay matte Powder because mine was running out and a new foundation from Maybelline called Super Stay Better Skin.

As I only bought a couple of pieces of clothing from London I decided to make a purchase online at Newlook. The first thing I purchased was a tartan dress. As you see below, it had long sleeves, flares out and has a rounded neck. I have  already worn it and I actually really like it. It looks really nice with black chelsea boots or brown chelsea boots. Mine have a heel for a little extra height but I also think it adds to the look. These brown boots were also a purchase from my Newlook order along with the brown shoes in the picture below which are also very nice.

While we are on the topic of shoes, also in this order I purchased another pair of boots. They are black and also flat. My boots from last year have seen better days and so these were more of a necessity for colder and wetter weather rather than a want for them. Also while browsing in Newlook about a week ago, I spotted a black pair of heels which me and my friend instantly fell in love with. Technically she spotted them first so we both ended up buying them but I was not about to leave them on the shelf! These are again in the picture below.

Back to the Newlook order another item i purchased was a black top with a white collar. It buttons all the way down the back which I think gives it a cute spin. It is a little cropped I think as it is a little short. What I like to do is wear it with a skater skirt and tuck it in. I also bought a second top in the same order which is black and white. The top is filled with white squares and there is a zip going up the back.

While walking through the town center about a week ago I had a quite nose in Topshop at their jewelry as they had sales on. I came across 3 little midi rings and then an midi and normal ring set. The pictures below show all of these but I think they are all very cute. The little lady bird is my favorite and it only cost me £2.50.

The last products that I am going to mention in this haul is Tanya Burr's new lip gloss and nail polish collection. I was so exited for these to come out and so when they came out I bought 3 lip glosses ( Just Peachy, Aurora and Heart Skipped a Beat) and 3 nail polishes ( Penguin Chick, Mini Marshmallows and Peaches and Cream) and I love them.

Not all of the products/items I have mentioned are pictured in this post but i hope you found this post interesting anyway.
Thank you for reading this haul :D

MOVING HOUSE!

So Tuesday the 26th of November I moved house. I was so exited to move due to getting a bigger room and having a new blank canvas to decorate and design however I choose. It was not until I started packing all my stuff that i realized that; 1 I have a huge amount of stuff and 2 it is extremely hard to pack and to know what to pack first.
I set my room into categories; clothes, make up, jewelry, under the bed stuff, hair stuff, cupboard stuff and even things like socks were all categorized so that once my boxes were packed I didn't have half my socks in one box and the other half in another. Also we needed to solve the problem of urgent things, how am I going to be tell exactly where my important things are if I have 25 boxes that all look the same?
Me and my mum came up with the idea to use pink labels on all the boxes that were urgent and that needed to be opened quickly.

This made sure that we knew exactly what boxes were important. We also decided that we should not only just label the boxes the rooms they were going in, but also label them with fragile or heavy if they were either and also a description of what exactly is in the box.

The labels give you an exact description of who the box belongs and where it is going and also what is in it so that when you are searching for that dress you really want to wear on Saturday, you will know exactly where to find it.

When I imagined moving house, I pictured this really stressful, worrying and boring task that would take up a lot of my time I could be using to do other things and making me to stressed out to even think about doing anything else. However I only guessed that it was going to take me a long time right. The packing of all my things and also throwing stuff out as I went along was actually quite fun. Even writing out the labels and taping the box together was quite interesting.

So next time you or a friend or family member is moving, why don't you offer to help, you may have more fun than you think ;)

Thank you for reading this blog post.
